What languages were the Torah, Talmud and other Holy texts originally written in?

The Torah was in Hebrew. In the Talmud, the Misnah is in Hebrew, the Gemarah in Aramaic for the most part. The Hebrew Bible itself is written in Hebrew except for certain sections, (like a portion of Daniel when he was in the exile that was Aramaic)

So are Rabbis (is that the proper plural of Rabbi?) required to be able to read both Hebrew and Aramaic?

Actually my sarcasm shoulda been enough lol. The answer is yes. If one cannot read the languages, how could they totally teach it on the proper level from Rabbi to student? There are many words in Hebrew for example that are impossible to fully translate to English and still maintain the same meaning.

Hebrew is the language of the Torah, the Talmud Bavli was written in Aramaic, the Mishneh was written in Hebrew.

Aramaic and Hebrew are very close, so close in fact that if you know one, you will know the other. I read and understand both equally.
