Prophets in other lands... Empty Prophets in other lands...

I had hear somewhere that He sometimes raises prophets in other lands for people who had never heard of the One True G_d. What is your view on this?

Some examples would be Job whom was not under the Abrahamic Covenant. Baalam who I think was a Moabite. Jonah who was Hebrew i think but was sent to Nineveh.

How do you know if a prophet is false? I know that all of his prophesies must come about, I would assume they can't contradict the Holy Word.

Any time a prophet claims that we should ignore any part of the Torah or does so himself, that person is a false prophet. Even if that person can do "Miracles"
In Deuteronomy 13:1 (Xtian version) or Deuteronomy 13:2 (Hebrew version) it makes it clear that even if someone does a sign or a wonder, if it involves Avodah Zarah, we are to not hearken to that person.

Yov was not a prophet, just a guy. Bilaam was an evil prophet bent on destroying Israel. Yonah was a minor prophet.

If any person claims to be a prophet, performs magic, and/or claims to be a miracle worker, we aren't to listen to them.... if a person claims to be such, and preaches to others other than what Torah teaches, that person is to be stoned.

    ..not in modern times obviously.
