If you were invited and say there was a strictly vegetarian meal being served would you still eat there?

Gracefully, no.
Even if they served only whole vegetables from YOUR garden, with paper plates and plastic utensils.
The reason is sometimes difficult for gerim: We can't give the appearance that we are eating non-kosher. If a goy were to see a known Jew eating non-kosher food (or the appearance of such - like eating at a goyishe house), it would case a bad light on all Jews.
I wouldn't.

Maris Ayin... I couldn't. There is no knowing if their kitchen is kosher, or their utencils, etc. If it is perceived that I ate somewher non-kosher, then it could be misconstrued that this is what Jews do (since I'm considered an observant Jew).Eliyahna wrote:I think if they were raw vegetables I would.
So I wouldn't.
Best bet is to graciously bow out and explain in simple terms the halachah. The only things that should be going into our bodies are holy things.....

It's not just preparation though; it's that their house isn't kosher, their kitchen isn't kosher, they aren't kosher...they perform avodah zarah.
And as I said before, if it appears that a kosher Jew is eating with a xtian, others could think that that's what we do... and it isn't.
Not a good idea. Sorry for the shortness, I'm very machmid when it comes to stuff like this.
Have a great day!

If you had non-Jews eating at your place would you insist they perform natilas yadayim?

No, they aren't chayiv. They should wear a kippah, watch, ask questions, and enjoy the meal.
