Do you think this helps or hurts?

Paris has a strict law against anti-semitism. It seems even making what could be an anti Semitic remark can get you arrested. While I think people should show respect for one another, I am not sure I can support the government telling people what they can and cannot say provided they aren't yelling "fire" in a crowded theater.

In some ways, maybe it helps keep comments like this from being public, but it would seem it could also lead to resentment towards Jews.

It helps and it hurts. I helps because it's right, and just. It's wrong because all it will really do is make those who hate us, hate us more.
