    Today.....

I listened to a preacher who started talking about the different factions of Jews during the turn of the millenia, and how they argued that there was no basis in Torah for the resurrection of the dead - and that it took yeshka to prove them wrong. That's right yeshka saved the day by proving the - unlearned Jews - that their own Torah covered the resurrection of the dead. We'll cover his biblical idiocy in a minute.

I was pretty upset, he tells the crowd how stupid the Jews of the day were and how yeshka had to show them in their own Book. Livid is a better word. I write this here to keep me from confronting him at the risk of my xtian families feelings.

Let's talk about the preachers' biblical idiocy just for a second: What the unlearned and intellectually dishonest preacher forgot to tell the crowd was this: The bad Jews who sided with Rome - and xianity - the Sadduccees', did not believe in the resurrection of the dead because they only believed in the written Torah - and not any of the Tanakh. The Neviim prophesied many times about the resurrection of the dead, the Oral Torah teaches us in many places about it, and the Torah Jews - the Pharisee's - believed in it (and we still do) whole heartedly. It is part of our 13 Principals of Faith.

So you see, not only was the preacher ignorant in biblical teachings (at a minimum did no research), but he is a latent ant-semite. He probably didn't understand that it was an insult.
Nice work preacher. I'm happy to have cleared his up for you. You know how to reach me if you need me to teach you about the origins of your own religion.

YOu gotta love How some people insist that we don't know our own scriptures, traditions, and laws and that somehow without them despite the fact that most of them cannot speak a word of Hebrew we would never know any better. Rolling Eyes
Good thing we have them to clear up where we went wrong. scratch
